Job requirements
Languages
- English
Education
- Second (High) School graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years Badminton coaching experience
- Minimum of 2 years National and/or international competitions and sporting events
- Possess interest and passion in developing the sport of badminton
- Strong desire and dedication to the developing of young athletes to compete in the national/international level
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Ability to work in a team as well as with little supervision/guidance
- Ability to carry out lessons in both 1:1 and group settings
- Sound knowledge of rules, skills and strategies involved in badminton
- Ability to motivate and encourage students to push their limits
- Ability to speak a second language is an asset
Job Duties
As of the Effective Date, your position will be High Performance & Sparring Coach. You shall be responsible for the duties and responsibilities that are customarily or commonly provided by or performed by a High Performance & Sparring Coach of an organization of comparable size and type to that of the Company. You shall also perform such other duties and responsibilities as may, from time to time, be assigned by your supervisor. In the position of High Performance & Sparring Coach, you will report to the Director of Can Sports Center.
- Plan, develop and implement training and practice sessions
- Motivate and prepare athletes or teams for competitive events or games
- Participate in coaching clinic instruction
- Analyze and evaluate athletes' or team's performance
- Observe and evaluate prospective athletes' skills and performance
- Present materials at conference or symposium

- Identify strengths and weaknesses of athletes or teams
- Formulate competitive strategies, develop game plans and direct athletes and players during games or athletic events
- Participate in Local, regional, provincial, national or international competitions and sporting events
